God won't let your PAST cancel out your FUTURE.....

God gives you wisdom from your wounds....

Don't be Incarcerated by past Insecurities.....

Remain FAITHFUL, even when life is UNFAIR...

There comes a time when you have to leave the past in the past. Sure all of us have something in our pasts that we would love to forget ever happened. And even the though the past might hurt, we have to learn from past mistakes, otherwise we will continue to make the same mistakes that we have always made. God gives you wisdom from your wounds because most wounds leave a scar. For the most part, nobody likes how a scar looks after the wound has healed. But that wound is there as a reminder of what happened to you.

The beauty in it all is that we all have been blessed with a second chance to get things right. There have been things that we have done that should have clearly taken us out. But due to God's grace and mercy, we lived through it all. When it comes to dealing with our past, often times we have many insecurities about ourselves; such as what people will think of us and how we will just go on with our daily lives. If you are not careful, you can easily doubt your way out of a blessing that was meant for you! So when in doubt, just know that everything will workout in your favor if you just believe and remain faithful. Everything won't fall your way or in your favor....but if you remain faithful during your STORM just know there is a BRIGHTER day ahead! Word 2 the wise...you don't want anybody in your corner that's ONLY there when things are going well..if they can't be there while you are in your VALLEY, they don't deserve to be with you on your MOUNTAIN.

Your PAST can't DEFINE you nor DECLINE you...often times God will let somethings DIE in your life in order to SAVE your life! A lot of times it's the ones that are closet to us that can't handle where God is taking you! Point of this post...in order to get to where you are going, you have to get rid of certain people...the wrong people in you ear can easily cause you to miss out on your BLESSINGS! God will not take you through anything that He can't bring you out of! Just because things seem to be bad now doesn't mean they will stay that way...you gotta have FAITH! Besides, things could always be worse...be GRATEFUL for where you are at...and where He is about 2 take you.

Novemeber 23rd, 2001....TEN years and counting....

God will never take you through anything that He can't bring you out of....

Your TRAGEDY will become your TESTIMONY....

Give yourself a chance at life...NEVER give up!

As Langston Hughes said; "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair." Being the truest line of poetry that I've ever read, I realize that even though life hasn't been the easiest; I'm still here. The things that the devil planned for my DESTRUCTION, God turned it into a VICTORY for me. Back in May, 2000, I was diagnosed with kidney failure after my whole body went numb from head to toe during basketball practice during my freshman year of high school. My past medical history had shown no signs of any medical conditions outside of a heart murmur that I was born with. In the beginning, things didn't look so bright as my mother took me to a 24-hour clinic to see if we could find out what was going on with my body. At the time my blood pressure was 155/100, which caused the doctor to worry if there had been any internal damage to my body due to my pressure being so high. After going back to the clinic, the doctor told me that he felt it was something wrong with my kidneys.

I knew that I was in for the fight of my life as I was faced with a new battle that I had to fight. Funny, we have a habit of trying to take on things ourselves when God already has it worked out for us. My situation was no different. After the clinic doctor gave me some blood pressure pills that didn't work, my mother then called Children's Medical Center's Renal Division, just to find out that I couldn't get in for atleast two months as they were fully booked. My first blessing came from actually not getting into the renal division the first time around. Because of my heart murmur, I had a cardiologist at Children's that had been following my heart health from the time that I was small. My mother called my cardiologist and told him everything that was going on. The next day, I was in his office having tests ran. Once the results came back, it was confirmed that my kidneys were not only failing, but also they were the size of a baby's kidneys.

My second blessing came through my cardiologist, as he walked my mo ther and I over to the renal division. Shows you how fast God can work. Just two months ago, I was told that I had to be put on the waiting list...but God moved me to VIP status. To make a long story short, I had to endure several medication changes, a change in my diet, skin tone, and life, as well as a failed attempt at a kidney transplant on July, 4, 2000. We got a call saying that a kidney was available for me. I get prepped for surgery, get a dose of the "sleepy juice" as I call it, next thing I know, I wake up in a hospital room, and not ICU..so I knew something was wrong. It turned out that the nurses put the kidney in the refrigerator versus the freezer where it was suppose to go! Needless to say, my surgeon aborting my surgery was a blessing.

But on November 22, 2001, Thanksgiving Day, I received a call from my doctor saying that another kidney was available. This time around, I had a positive feeling that the surgery would go through. I went through the same routine as I did back in July, except for when I woke up this time....I knew that I had surgery. I woke up in ICU in the worst pain in my life. And as funny as it sounds, I wouldn't trade that pain for the world....My pain, tears, hurt, struggle, and victories have molded me into the person that I am today. God never takes you through anything that He can't bring you out of...I'm living proof! I've been beating the odds placed in front of me since 1984; the year of my birth. Being adopted, told I wouldn't graduate high school, and kidney failure made me the fighter that I am now! I thank God for blessing me with the gift that is a kidney for the last TEN years...And I'm thankful for you taking time out of your day to read this blog...remember to never give up! Fight for life, because there is somebody depending on you!

YOU ARE A PRIZED POSSESSION….NOT EVERYBODY’S WORTHY…

Do you really know you’re WORTH???

You are more EXPENSIVE than money, more valuable than anything…

Put your HEART and SOUL into everything that you do…

In today’s society, it seems as if a lot of people put a person’s value on how much they are worth. For the record, there is more than one type of worth. Sure, most times we think of worth as money, power, and respect, but then there’s the worth of a person’s heart, time, and motives. Often times we get caught up in what other’s have, what other people’s bank accounts look like, and what other’s relationships are like. The worst mistake that you can make is comparing your SITUATION to somebody else’s simply because everybody’s situations aren’t the same. Or as we say, you live the cards that you are dealt. Never desire to be like the next man, because you don’t know what hell they have been through to get to where their at currently in their lives. Your CARELESSNESS can easily cause unnecessary STRESS, WORK, and EXPENSE; at times we dig ourselves in a hole trying to be like others when we don’t even have a blueprint of our own.

In everything that you do, do not put yourself in the position to be BOUGHT! You have to recognize when a person is stringing you along based on what they have. You are more expensive than money, and more valuable than anything. Your mate should treat you as if no other person in the world matters…if they can’t give you that, then it’s time for you to leave! Love is designed to be a beautiful thing. When it is treated right by both parties, the possibilities are endless. On the same token, if you have to buy a person to keep them around, they aren’t for you. We have all seen this at some point, or maybe it was us who went through it. Love doesn’t cost a thing, besides; it’s the person’s heart and actions that speaks volumes; not their purse or wallet. Not everybody is worthy of your love, time, and money. Be careful who you give access into your life. People can easily overstay their welcome and eventually drain you of your worth.

As you live your life, there will be bumps and bruises along the road to success. Everybody’s vision of success is and will forever be different. But whatever drives you, be sure to do it for the right reasons, and be sure to pour your heart and soul into your craft. They say money makes the world go round and is the most powerful tool a person can have. Although money can sometimes make life a little easier, it’s your SERVICE towards other people that makes all the difference in the world. Putting a smile on somebody’s face is priceless, spending time with your family is priceless, and making YOURSELF happy with the life you live is…..priceless!

WHAT YOU WON’T DO 4 LOVE.....

LOVE is more than just a 4 letter word…

Talking only gets you so far….

You tried EVERYTHING but you won’t give up….

When it comes to love, there is more than one type of love. There’s the love of a family member, spouse, or child. Then there’s the love for money, the love for power, and the love for respect, just to name a few. Love is more than just a four letter word. When you say you love somebody, there is normally some action behind the words. To show a person that you truly love them doesn’t always require the spending of money. A lot of time you’re TIME and PRESENCE is just what the doctor ordered.

What’s TRULY in your HEART will eventually migrate to your MOUTH and eventually come out. A lot of times it’s not hard to figure out if a person has true love for us. Just watch their actions. Besides, love shouldn’t hurt in any shape, form, or fashion. When it comes to relationships, be it a marriage or friendship, if you aren’t careful, a person can easily OVERSTAY their welcome in your life. Certain people have certain seasons in your life, be sure to recognize when it’s time to let certain people go. You can’t expect true happiness when you’re with a person that still acts if they are in high school. If that person is not equally YOLKED with you, get rid of them. Don’t become CRIPPLED by their lack of COMMITEMENT.

As I bring this blog to a close, I want you to understand that you can’t buy love. You can’t protect TREASURES when it’s in a glass house. Moral of the story is that your significant other needs love, you gotta try love, cause you can’t buy love…and if you have to BUY that person to KEEP them, then he or she isn’t the one for you. In all you do, be sure to love as if it’s your last chance…afterall, we serve a God that loves us despite the lack of love that we show Him at times…..

Lord give Me a SIGN....FAITH without WORKS is dead....

As long as the Lord is in my LIFE...I will have no fear...

We struggle 4 a PURPOSE that's GREATER than us....

He feels your pain.....

When the doors are closed in your face and your HATERS are thick...FAITH enough in Jesus is all you need to succeed...the POWER of PRAYER changes things. If you aren't careful, u can easily DOUBT your way out of a BLESSING! Sure we get an anxious at time when we feel our BREAKTHROUGH is near...but just because it doesn't happen when you think it's suppose to doesn't mean it won't happen..afterall God works on His time, not ours. This causes our faith to be tested. Often times we wonder what is taking God so long to work in our favor. The thing is, He is always working in our favor...it just all comes in time.

Alot of times we treat God like a towel rack...we leave Him hanging out to dry. We only call on Him when we find ourselves in a tough spot. When things are going our way, we have a tendency 2 take full credit like it was us who did it! Imagine if He treated us the same way that we sometimes treat Him...where would we really be? Sure, we are human and we fall short daily, but you gotta give thanks in advance for what's about to happen. At the same time, we sometimes put ourselves in situations that makes it a little harder for God to bless us the way that He wants to. If you aren't careful, some people can easily OVERSTAY their welcome in your life. Everything and everybody has a season in your life. Recognize when it's time to let certain people and things go...you can't expect to grow and u are still doing the same things you did in high school. If the people around you aren't striving to do BIGGER and BETTER, get rid of em, don't you become CRIPPLED by their lack of PROGRESS.

In this life, there is more than ONE type of robber...there's the type that rob others of their POSSESSIONS, there are robbers who steal DREAMS and WISHES, while other robbers steal JOY and HAPPINESS... point of this post..don't let this be you! the devil is as busy as ever..and whatever YOU let him take, he will destroy, watch the company that you keep, afterall, they might be the ones robbing you...stay PRAYERFUL, PEACEFUL, and JOYFUL, it all gets better. The devil is out to seek, kill, and destroy. Sometimes we fall off the "good" path in life, and that's fine for the simple fact that God still has His hands on us, even when we are at our worse...in all you do, remember that you CAN and WILL make it through your DARKEST night...Joy comes in the morning, and you are closer to YOUR Joy than what you know!

Gotta go THROUGH it 2 get to IT.....Nothing comes FREE....

There are no REAL shortcuts in life....

Getting nicked, bruised, and hurt is NECESSARY....

Stay grounded, focused, and prayerful....the rest will fall in place...

In the journey of life, it's safe to say that we all want to prosper and live the greatest life. The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family and You will have flats called Jobs. A lot of times, that's just the way life goes. As stated before, there are no shortcuts in life, we all must pay some type of dues. Sure, we don't want to go through certain things, but we have to in order to become stronger.

We often times wonder why we have to struggle, hurt, and even go broke before we get to where we want to be. The answer to that is pretty simple...If we didn't have to work for anything, we wouldn't know how to appreciate what we have in front of us. Sometimes it takes us struggling for years to final understand that we have to be grateful for the good and bad times in our lives. If we are grateful over a few things, He will make us ruler over many...just think about that.

As I end this blog, remember that hard work does pay off. Sure, it might take awhile to REAP your HARVEST...but when you do reap, just imagine how sweet it will be. Never forget the path that you had to travel to reach success, for success does not come over night...it takes time, dedication, and of course patience. Be safe, love one another, and of course support each other...all of those things are....PRICELESS!

Where was God on 9/11....10 years later...

A day in history that we will never forget....

Our FAITH was more than tested....

Where was God when all of this was going on??

We all remember that life changing day that was September 11, 2001. We all remember where we were when we saw the twin towers fall to the ground. I was a Sophomore at DeSoto High School, I was in English class, when the classroom phone started to ring. My teacher rushed to the TV, turns to channel 5 news...just after the second plane flew into the second world tower...chills ran through my body, in shock and confusion. Truly a day I will never I will never forget. Sure, all of our lives changed forever. But, after 10 years, how far have we really come? How much have we really changed as a country? Many have asked where was God when everything was going on. Sure, He is the creator and finisher of all things. But many people wonder why He would let something such as 9/11 take place.

One can only wonder why, but at the same time, one can ask, how much of this did we bring on ourselves? I'm I happy about what happened, of course not, it's the worst thing possible. This is more of a lesson learned. This shows that God is not to be played or tampered with. Sure, some of you might not agree or even like this blog, but it's just the way that I feel. When we start putting more FAITH in man instead of Him, that's a problem. It shouldn't take a tragic event such as this to bring our country together. Yes, we won't get along with everybody that we meet while we are here on Earth. As I'm sure, most of you can remember when America was considered the most powerful country in the world...but where are we now?

This blog is not to down my country, cause at the end of the day, I love my country...home of the brave! There are COUNTLESS heroes that died and others that survived. The beautiful thing is that God has given us a brighter day, something better to look forward to. In a land of selfishness, greed, hate, and misunderstanding...there is no better time for us to stand up together as ONE people and ONE unit, cause afterall, we are Americans, right? We must not only support our President, but our troops, and most importantly each other....try lending your your fellow man helping hand. As the bible says, How can you love God, but you don't show your brother any love? That's something to think about.

As I close, God bless the people that were in the towers, planes, and on the ground, God bless the people at the Pentagon, and of course our troops, our government, as well as any threat against the US of A...God is GREATER than any weapon formed against us! Remember that!

God Bless,

All NEW everything...gotta start from scratch sometimes...

Let the PAST be just that...the past....

Celebrate what you have overcame....

Clap for yourself.....

In this life, we constantly make mistakes, we constantly come up short of where we are probably suppose to be. In this life, we hurt people, and often we disobey God when it comes to doing His work. Even in the midst of us coming up short, we are blessed to get another chance to get it right. Granted, none of deserve another chance, but we serve a God that's that faithful to us. I am a firm believer that there comes a time in life where you have to start from scratch. Sometimes you have to start things over, or as we say, "Out with the OLD and in with the NEW."

When you start new, sometimes you have to cry, and there is nothing wrong with that. When you start new, you have to let some people in your life go. When you start new, there will be somethings that you will have to change about YOU. It's no point in changing your surrounds, but you still do the same things that you have always done. Besides, when you continue to do what you have always done...you will continue to get what you have always gotten. It doesn't matter who you are, your background, or what you have done, it's never to late to start over.

One thing that you have to understand, when you find your purpose in life, when you decide to do better in life, some of the people that you are the closet to will not understand what it is that you are about to go into. These are the people that you have to let go. Sure it cane be hard, but once it's done, you will realize the benefit of making the bigger moves in life that will last a life time, instead of wasting QUALITY time on UNQUALIFIED people. Everybody that is placed in your life can be there for a short season, long season, or a life-long season. It's on you to realize what is and whats now.

At the end of the day, always remember that it's never to late to start over and get it right. It doesn't matter if man accepts you are not, cause once God's hand is on your LIFE, you are god to go.

Re-inventing yourself 4 God's purpose....We all go through seasons...

In life the one thing that's constant is CHANGE...

As you grow, sometimes you have to let certain ones go...

Waiting time is never wasted time....

In this life, we go through many seasons. Sometimes those seasons last for a short period of time or they can last a life time. Some season that we go through are bad while some seasons we go through are good. At the end of the day, it's life, and we all must live it FULLY. There comes a time where we have to take ourselves out of certain seasons when it comes to re-inventing ourselves for the better. Often times what we are birth into is not where God will keep us. We are not birth to be God's purpose, but we are born to be GREAT.

In order to make it in this life, you have to tap into your VALUE. We don't put enough on how valuable we really are. If you don't do what you are suppose to do, there will be somebody who doesn't receive what they are suppose to get. There is a season where you can be a person's friend, but there comes a time when you have to let them go in order for God to take you where He wants to take you.

If you are not everything that your suppose to be, then how do you figure that your everything that you are suppose to be??? During re-invention, God will add people to your life which means, you will have to let others go. There isn't anything wrong with that. If you aren't careful, those same old people can easily be your downfall....you can't take everybody with you as you grow into who you are suppose to be. It's not that the people that you leave behind are bad, it's just that a lot of them won't understand the journey that you are about to take....at the end of the day...be thankful for your SEASONS, afterall, you can't grow and expand if you haven't been through anything....

Looking 4 a NEW love? Get rid of the OLD baggage.....

You can't move FORWARD when your living in the PAST....

Sometimes you have to just walk away....

Never sell yourself short of what you truly want....

As I've heard more than a million times, most people seem to think that love is lost. Many seem to think that love is just one big game. In some cases, it is. You have to understand that love in the right hands can be the difference between your BREAKDOWN and your BREAKTHROUGH. Granted, there are many definitions of love, but at the end of the day, it all means the same thing. For myself, the definition of love is when you do something for another person, knowing that they can't pay you back. It's easy to do for others when you know that your getting something in return...but what about those people who don't have the money to pay you back??

When looking for a new love, the worse thing that you can do is to bring old baggage from your last relationship into a possible new relationship. When you do that, the new relationship is pretty much doomed. Never punish the NEXT man or woman for waht the LAST person did to you..afterall, thats why they are now the past. When dealing with love, it should indeed come easy and true. But, at the same time, you can't just link up with anybody. This is where a lot of us make our biggest mistake...we get involved with somebody who is unequally yoked mentally and spiritually which leads to the downfalls. In which a lot of times, we can see the "red flags" clearly, but we just choose not to address them. Sure, we have all made this mistake, including myself, which is why you live and learn.

In the end, NEVER sell yourself short of what you TRULY desire. Your love doesn't have to be for a person, it can be for a job that you want, it can be for your business to take off. But, in most cases, when we talk about love, it's about what we want in a mate. Always remember that love doesn't hurt. I f you find yourself in a hurtful situation, get as far away as possible. God has a bigger plan for you, and besides, He doesn't wish for us to be hurt. So next time you ask "God where are you", know He's closer than you think...

Signing Off,

Old Skool Mama....Nuff said...

For the mamas and grandmothers who raised us....

For staying up late with us while we were sick.....

For praying for us day and night while we ran the streets...

This blog post is a bit different from what I normally do, but this must be done. A lot of times we don't give our mothers enough credit. A lot of times our mothers get the bad wrap for being overprotective of us or for being in our business as we grew up. I thank God daily for mama and the old skool mamas for the roles that they have played in my life.

Some of you might be wondering what an old skool mama is...well; an old skool mama is a mama that would take care of you and give you all that you need, but at the same time would tell you to go pick out your own switch and whoop you with it. An old skool mama is a mama that would stay up late with you and rub you down with Vick's vapor rub, but would also pop up at your school without you knowing just to see what you are doing in class.

There are many old skool mamas that aren't even our mothers...such as an aunt, or a cousin, or even a teacher that got us in line when we were heading down a path of destruction. It is important that we all have a mama. My situation was always a little different growing up because my mother is a little older. Funny thing is, a lot of my friends looked at my mother as their mother as well. She seemed to have all the answers to any questions that we asked. She showed all the TLC that you could ask for, but she was firm at the same time...

In the end, with out an old skool mama, a lot of would be in a world of trouble, and a lot of us wouldn't be living today. So when you see an old skool mama or even a younger mother, show them some love, thank them for what they have done. And if you see a child getting out of line...yea, go ahead and get em in line, otherwise, somebody else is...

Share your memories of your old skool mama...afterall, they are our backbones...

From WORSE 2 FIRST....It's your turn 2 SHINE....

The LAST shall be FIRST....

The MEEK shall INHERIT the Earth...

The race isn't given to the SWIFT...but one who ENDURES the most....

Often times we wonder when it will be our turn to make it big in this life that we live. Often times we look at what others have and ask "Why not me?" Which is correct...why not you? In your wanting more, you first have to be FAITHFUL over what you are currently blessed with. You can't expect to get a HOUSE and you don't keep your APARTMENT clean. Even more important...never envy or wish to be like the next man, afterall, you don't know the hell they are going through to maintain what they have. Just because something looks good from the outside doesn't mean that it's all that on the inside.

As stated before, when your grateful for what you have, God will make you ruler over many...when we are born into this world, we are born at our worse. Granted, there is nothing like a new born baby, that has all the possibility in the world. We are born at our worse because we are born into a world of sin. Yes, it's not our choice, but we do have the choice to be the best that we can be. In your quest for greatness, you will go through ups and downs...the key is to be grateful during the GOOD and the BAD times...afterall, no path is perfect. We have our cuts, scars, and wounds...but we live to tell about it...

So when you think that others are passing you by, that's fine...cause every person has their own path. We have our appointed times and places for everything. You have to understand, it's not meant for everybody to be a millionaire, or even President of the United States..but as long as you run your race the best you can, you will always come out on top...Always remember, you have come from WORSE to FIRST, and you can take that to the bank...

Be sure to pray for somebody other than yourself...don't be selfish with God, afterall, somebody prayed for you when you were at your worse....go ahead and return the favor to somebody else.

GO get YOUR life back....You owe it to yourself....

You have to go through the storm and rain to get to the sunshine....

You are the ONLY one that controls your happiness...

Be GRATEFUL for your ups and downs....

Life can have a way of knocking us down and daring us to get back up. The struggles of life do indeed happen for each and everyone of us, but in different ways. Believe it or not, we are ALL battled tested. We have ALL overcome a major situation that should have killed us....but we survived! Just think about it, we were blessed to see another day that was not promised to us...so why give up and throw in the towel because we are a little nicked and bruised? You have to understand, there are people who are depending on you. Sad thing is, a lot of you don't see that....We live our lives for not only us, but for our friends and families..and a lot of times for people that you don't even know.

Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, sometimes were hurt and abused, unfortunately, that's life. But the storms you go through are to make you stronger. When it comes to your happiness, it is indeed your happiness. There will be times we go astray and there will be times we lose our way, which a lot of times is the cause of our unhappiness.

The beautiful thing is...the best is yet to come for all of us. We all have a voice that needs to be heard. Afterall, God sees everything that we go through, afterall, He knows us from the crowns of our heads to our feet. So if you know you aren't in control of your life, I highly encourage you to GO GET YOUR LIFE BACK! If you don't remember anything that I've said...remember this, you ain't seen nothing yet...today is the first day of the BEST days of YOUR life!

Don't forget to support each other, hug somebody, and most importantly...love yourself, it makes it easier to love others....

A Fighting Chance....Let the WORLD feel your pain....

Pain has a habit of making us stronger.....

Pain is a part of life.....

Pain is only TEMPORARY....

In this life, we all go through some type of pain. It can be physical, it can be mental, and it can be verbal pain. Through it all, you have to remember that whatever your dealing with, your not the ONLY one dealing with that problem. The key to overcoming and closing out your issue or situation is to open your mouth! A lot of times, we feel people won't understand what it is that we are going through, when the truth is more people understand that what you know. Never be afraid to share what storm that God has brought you out of...afterall, that's good news...right??

As for me, my pain was indeed more physical than anything. I went from being a vibrant kid to fighting for my life on more than one occasion. And trust when I tell you, a kidney transplant is indeed painful enough once you wake up in an ICU room. After I finally recovered from my surgery...I didn't tell many people for the simple fact of me being 17 years old. I was still in high school at the time, and I felt my classmates wouldn't understand my situation and what I had been through. My BIGGEST mistake was assuming that others wouldn't understand. As it turns out, I was one of three people who received kidney transplants...amazing God works huh?

After I opened my mouth about what I had endured...it was amazing how my testimony was viewed and received. It's a fact that you never know who is watching and listening to you. The point is; whatever you have gone through, speak on it...it might just save a life. At the end of the day, we are all placed on this Earth with a purpose, the key is to unlock your purpose and bless as many people as you can. Granted everybody's path is different, which is great, because that's what makes us unique.

Do what you can to make a difference in this world...I can't stress that enough. We serve a God that has given us hundreds of chances to get things right...so why not treat our fellow man the same way? Think about that.....

WHO GOT THE RENT MONEY!!!...Seriously, who has it????

We buy 26 inch rims, but we can't pay our bills....

We can buy 2 pairs of Jordan's at a time, but can't afford diapers....

We can have two cell phones...but NO minutes on either one of them....

In the world that we live in today, a lot times we get caught up in the "Hollywood" life. We see the fancy cars, the houses, the boats, and the list goes on. The thing is, only TWO percent of the United States lives that type of lifestyle. Which means the MAJORITY of us falls in the other ninety-eight percent that don't live that lifestyle. While we all want to have a great and wealthy life, it takes time to get there. The majority of us don't get rich overnight...and for the ones who do, they are what we call those people the "exception".

Just as the blog title says "Who got the rent money?" is a legit question. Often times, we buy things that we don't need. We sometimes get things just because we see somebody else with whatever it is. It doesn't make any sense for you to spend $165 on some Jordan's, but you can't afford a double cheeseburger. There comes a time when you have to put the Gucci and Prada bags down and make sure that your kids are taken care of. Granted, if you can spend all the money in the world and handle all of your business...then this blog isn't for you.

At the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to make sure you and your loved ones are taken care of, the luxury life will come in due time. But, you must understand, it's not meant for everybody to be a millionaire, it's not even meant for everybody to be a six-figure earner. Yes, this world is ours for the taking, but God also knows how much we can handle. And as I have said before...you can't expect to be blessed with more when your not grateful for what you presently have....So in everything you do, be grateful...it goes a long way.

In the eye of YOUR storm....There's a rainbow that awaits you...

At the drop of a dime, our lives can instantly change....

God doesn't take you through anything that He can't bring you out of...

When the storm is over...you come out a better and stronger person....

In this life, we all go through ups and downs, we all go through good times as well as bad. But there are times when we can't see our way through the storm. Life can easily blindside us, it can be through our finances, our families, and our jobs. There are times when we feel that the storm will never end. The thing is, no storm lasts forever...and after every storm comes a rainbow, and maybe even a pot of gold.

When we face our storms, we never face them alone, as God is always there hand in hand with us. A lot of times we don't see this because we try to fight battles that aren't ours to fight. As my mother says..."Your arms are too short to box with God". That is indeed true, we can't take on the world by ourselves..which is why we give our problems to the one who created the world that we live in. The hardest thing to do at times is to let go of what we are battling...afterall, we want to be the ones to come out on top, right?

When we turn our battles over to the Lord, we have nothing to worry about. Granted, everything might not happen overnight...but God has a way of blessing you to the point that all of the people against have to take notice. I think we can all agree that we have faced people that wanted us to fail...But guess what, we are still here!!

So when the storms of life blind you, fret not..a BRAND new day is around the corner. Also keep in mind, FAITH without WORKS is DEAD...so we have to put in work ourselves....but in the end, we will all win.

RISING FROM THE ASHES....Let it Burn...

Don't let your past dictate your future...
Be willing to truly learn from past mistakes...
When you make it to your big pay day...thank EVERYBODY...

Rising from the ashes; simply meaning overcoming and and every obstacle in your path. Today's blog is one that I feel most can relate to. As we go through life, often times we are hurt by others or even some of the decisions that we make along the wayby others or even some of the decisions that we make along the way. Hurt can come in more ways than just physically, it can be emotional and even spiritually. The key is that we rise from the ashes of life. When you are faced with a strom, don't run away and don't hide. Afterall, we serve a God that is BIGGER than any storm or devil that we face. Plus, He said that He would never leave us or forsake us.

There have been times in my life where I had to ask God, "Where are you" "Do you hear my prayers" I think it's safe to say that we have all been there at certain times in our lives. We go through hurt, pain, struggle, fear, and uncertainty. But you mst understand, God can't use you to your fullest potentail if you haven't been to war. Gdo can't FULLY use you unless He FULLY breaks you...no path is trouble free, but there's always a BRIGHT side to your troubles...afterall, you can't be a testimony to somebody if you haven't been through anything yourself. It's easy to go through life when things are going our way. But as soon as something goes wrong, we want to throw in the towel, we want to quit. We don't have time for quitting, there are millions of people that are depending on you and I to help them. And when you think about quitting, just remember that there is somebody always worse off than you and there are others who would love to be in your shoes. It's our job to help out the next man. When you see somebody making the same mistakes that you once made, pull them to the side, theach them and coach them. .
The thing that people have yet yo understand is; you can't always help somebody by sitting behind a computer screen. You can't Always help someone out by texting and calling them. Granted, those methods work, but trying spending a little time with people, really see them for who they are, and fully understand what they are dealing with. Spending TIME makes a WORLD of a DIFFERENCE.

The true way in helping others is through your service....the big payday doesn't always come in the form of money. It might come in the form of you saving a life. It might come in the form of you getting a person back on the right track. And it might just come in the form of somebody else blessing you. When you continue to do the right thing, your blessing become limitless....When you rise from your ashed, never be afraid to relay the testimony, you never know how it will affect the next person. Through the hard times as well as the good times...remember to ALWAYS be grateful.

God doesn't make trash.....He hears your cry!!!!

This blog post is for those people who lost hope…..

This blog post is for those people that were told they wouldn’t amount to anything….

This blog post is for the CHAMPION in all of us….

Living life isn’t always the easiest task. Sometimes life can beat us down to the point that we don’t want to get back up. A lot of times we pray, and we feel that God doesn’t answer our prayers in a timely manner. The one thing that we have to understand is that our time isn’t God’s time, He moves when he’s good and ready. In this life, we ALL have some type of dream or goal that we want to achieve. Through the process of reaching our dreams, we embark on people who will do anything to stop us from getting to that point. And a lot of times, the people that we embark on are those closets to us…crazy huh? But it happens. A lot of times it’s those that are closet to us that don’t have a clue of what God is trying to do in our lives.

The good news is; the storms that we endure are simply a test. Sure a lot of times we don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. That light is indeed there, we just have to keep pushing towards it. You must understand that God is GREATER than any PREDICAMENT that we are faced with. There are times when people tell us that are dreams are stupid, childish, or even phony. That’s fine, let those other people talk…afterall, God as has the final say so, and the beauty of it is that God gives us control of our own destinies…it’s just on us to walk into what’s ours. So, instead of complaining…start claiming.

At the end of the day, we are all champions; we just have different roads to our titles. Never forget that God is a bridge builder, so when you’re walking in your darkest hour, trust that God won’t leave you hanging. Granted we might sin daily, which is why Jesus went to the cross for us. So, when others come against you and your dreams don’t fret…just keep pushing. Those people are just misguided…

Disease knows NO Color.....

More than 26 million Americans have chronic kidney disease and most don't know it......

To date, there are more than one million people living with HIV......

As of 2010, there are over 12 million people live with a form of cancer......

Today's blog is a bit touchy. I think it's safe to say that the majority of us know somebody who has some type of disease; that could be cancer, diabetes, or even AIDS. The reason for this blog is just as the title says...."Disease knows NO color", in a troubled world that is forever getting worse, it is important that we all form a bond, cause at the end of the day...color doesn't matter.

When my doctors called me with the news that they had found me a possible kidney match…it was the BEST news that I had heard in a long time. After I had surgery, I found out who the kidney had come from, a young lady that died in a car accident. I can’t remember her name, and I have yet to actually meet her family, but I know that she wasn’t BLACK….which was just fine with me. I hated to hear that she had passed away, but God uses EVERYDAY people to do EXTRAORDINARY things. I’m sure when she left home that day; she didn’t know that she wouldn’t return. But look at the lives that she was able to save through the donation of her organs….

The point of this blog…help your fellow man and woman. Just because a person has AIDS doesn’t make them any less of a person. Instead of turning your back, lend a hand. Help those that can’t help themselves. The TRUE way to please God is through your SERVICE…anybody can give money to the church…but what service are you lending to others? Service doesn’t always have to be done in a big way. Service can be a smile, it can be a hug, and it can even be prayer. Just do YOUR part….

At the end of the day, we ALL bleed red blood…blood that was shed for us a very long time ago on an old rugged cross. Be sure to take care of yourself and the others around you. Love somebody, care for somebody…and most importantly…send a prayer up for others, and watch EVERYBODY get blessed….

God Bless....The World Needs More Winners....

.....Winning is not about the amount of money that you have

.....Don't tell your BIG dreams to SMALL minded people

.....Not failure, but LOW aim is SIN

In a time when money is low and jobs are few, it is extremely easy to give up and throw in the towel. Sometimes we get what we WANT, sometimes we get what we NEED, and sometimes we get what we GET. The beauty is that God helps you hang in the race with what you get.

A lot of times, we try doing things our way, thus we fail. But, God will use your let downs to elevate you to VIP status. When I say VIP status; I mean for each person that has hated on you, each person that has let you down, and for each person that has turned their backs on you, God will set you up to the point where your haters have no choice but to see you shine.

Yes, the world does need more winners, but to be a winner, you must do your part. The way to GREATNESS is through your SERVICE. You can’t expect to get ahead and the only person you help out is yourself…it doesn’t work that way. Be careful how you treat others, you never know how God can flip the script and you end up needing the person you step on.

In this journey, there are people who will forever say they are going to be with you and support you, but when the time comes for them to show up…they won’t. And that’s just fine; afterall when all hell is breaking lose in your life, your closer to you VICTORY than what you realize.

In closing, never let your situation be an EXCUSE for not going for your DREAMS. Never let your situation stop you from loving the next man, and never let your situation HINDER God’s work…turn it over to Him…He tends to WIN every time….The GREATER your MOUNTAIN the GREATER your FAITH needs to be. So instead of complaining…start claiming and see how far that gets you.

Done with the USUAL...Plans to go VIRAL aka Video Blogging

It's only so much that one can do from a computer...let the people see your face, let them hear your voice... it makes a WORLD of a DIFFERENCE...

With the progress that I've been able to make in a short period of time, I feel it's only right that I take this book and kidney movement to the next level through video blogging. With the support that I've gained, I realize that in order to reach EVERYBODY, I must expand....granted, I still will do the written blogs, that won't stop. I've been blessed with a vision, which means I have the responsibility of taking the vision of my book on adoption, kidney transplantation, and daily life seriously.

As stated before, sooner or later the Mae Brown Foundation will be under way...but for now, the planned upcoming vlogs will support everything that I have talked about through blogging as well as on Facebook. Instead of words, you will actually see me and hear me. Besides that, I understand that there are only so many people who are seeing my blogs. With the vlogs, more people have an opportunity to see and understand what my vision is. As I've said before....Don't bring you SMALL visions to the BIG God that we serve...when you dream small, you get nothing, you dream big, and you can change the world....

My generation has been deemed as the “lost” generation, as long as I’m breathing, I will do more than my part to make sure that my generation is not lost. Granted, I can’t do it alone, but just know there are more people like myself that are doing whatever it takes to make a POSITIVE change….we are the future

I've been blessed with a brother and sister team that will be helping me with the recording of the vlogs...I won't say their names right now...they will introduce themselves soon enough...if all goes according to plan, the vlogs will start sometime next month. Be on the lookout on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and of course my blog spot and Twitter accounts. I ask you for your support and love…afterall, we ALL have a testimony, it’s all in how you tell it…

Be GRATEFUL 4 Everything!!!!

We struggle...

We fight...

We survive.....

When we make it....we aren't SATISFIED

Happy Wednesday to you all...

All day today the word GRATEFUL has been on my heart and mind. We wake up, we go to work, we go on vacations, we even have the opportunity to bless others. For some reason, it seems that we aren't grateful for God waking us up in the mornings, or Him allowing us grace and mercy on our jobs when half of us know we don't deserve the job that we have. Granted we all get a little down and out at times; it's life and afterall, we all are human. But we can't lose sight of God and where He has brought us from. It's like my mother says..."I might not be where I want to be, but I thank God that I am not where I use to be".

We tend to forget that there are millions of people who are either homeless, jobless, hungry, or sick. When you know what God has done for you, you can appreciate the good and the bad. Funny thing is, nobody wants to go through any storms or rough times. We want everything drama free, but it doesn't work that way. We go through what we go through to make us stronger...afterall God said He wouldn't forsake us. Nobody said that life would be easy. The thing is; you don't have to go at life alone. Be grateful, because there's someone else that's worse off than you, be grateful, because there's someone else who would love to be in your shoes....

Be grateful 4 where you are. U can't expect to be blessed with BIGGER and BETTER when you aren't grateful 4 the SMALLER things. Sure, none of us are were we want 2 b, but how do u expect to get there when you stay negative?? Be grateful, cause God gave you a job, an education, a family, and of course life....So, the next time you think about complaining about what you don't have, take a second and look at what you do have...then drive around and see the many people with signs up asking for food and money...then drive around and see the people lined up to get into a homeless shelter...then tell me your thoughts...

Be GRATEFUL 4 Everything!!!....

The Book.....I can't say Thank You enough...

Since starting this book and kidney foundation journey, I have gained a VERY strong support system. When I first thought of writing the book, I had no idea what it was that I had in my hands. The only thing that I wanted to do is get my story out there...to show others that there is light at the end of the tunnel for whatever your dealing with. Although this book is a long way from being completed, I figured I'd give you all a brief update on the progress.

For the record...this book isn't about money, any money thats made will be through the hands and eyes of God. But this book is being done to change lives not only across the nation, but across the world as well. There are so many medical issues out there today, for me it just happened to be regarding my kidneys. For others it can be cancer, AIDS, MS, or even something as simple as a broken arm. The one thing to remember is that God has the finally say so...not the doctors.

Up to this point, the book is coming along well, I'm jumping around from different stages of my life...but nevertheless, the book will be done. Theres nothing like putting your thoughts and feelings on paper...over time, it shows a person's progress in route to the completed project. Besides the book, as you all know...I have the twitter account up and running @kidneykronicles and also the fan page on facebook at Jonathan C. Johnson...check it out, support it, and watch it grow....In the near future, my team and I will start the video blogs, so look for us on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube as we work to bring attention to need for kidney care....

Special thank yous 2.....

LaSonya Nelson, Rachel Smith, Chelsea Diamond, Stephanie Thompson, Author Shakara, Celeste Zachry, my parents Henry and Velma Johnson-Wyatt, and of course you, the people that have taken the time out to follow and support this movement

I love you all

FIRE and DESIRE....don't be afraid of ADOPTION....

126,000 children waiting to be adopted across these United States.....

Not all of them get adopted.....

Their future can easily go up in flames.....

For you all who read this blog, I'm sure you are thinking that I'm a little of base from my previous blogs...but just read along and it will all make sense...I promise....

Adoption is an everyday event, most times children are adopted into families out of foster care and in other cases, children are adopted within their families. The purpose of this blog is to let you know that these kids are diamonds in the rough looking to give and receive all the love that they can. In some situations, these children are labeled as "slow" or labeled as "high risk" based off their past. That's understandable, but no child deserves to go without feeling the love of a mother, the hug of a father, and the support system of a full fledged family.

Yes, a lot of these children come from questionable backgrounds; but with a little compassion, those backgrounds can be cleaned up. Sure, it won't be an overnight process, but with a little faith, time, and opportunity...you never know what you have in your hands. The child could be the next Barack Obama, Bill Gates, or even the next Freddie Haynes. Sure, adoption is an investment...but it's an investment into a life...a life that could easily be lost without you...whomever you might be...

Adoption is for everybody, that I do understand...I'm just asking you to think about it...afterall, if it wasn't for adoption...the PRODUCT that you see before you wouldn't be....so before you write a kid off cause of what other people say...just think about what a world of joy a child can bring to your life...just ask my parents...they can vouch for me lol....

If nobody has told you that they love you today...just know that I do...

"I love you and it didn't start today"

What THEY say YOU can't do....

I'm sure we all have been down this road before...dealing with people who tell us what we are capable of doing and not doing....In a lot of cases the people that tell us what we can't do are the people closet to us; it can be a parent, sibling, or a best friend. It can be a certain type of job, graduating from school, or being a good parent and the list goes on. A lot of times we listen to these people because...afterall they are closet to us, right? Which can easily turn into a problem. In most cases, people misjudge our capabilities based on what they are capable of doing, and in other cases the people who say we can't do things in life just don't want us to elevate in life for the fear of passing them.

The good news is, when it comes to what we do in life...it is US who decides how far we go. For example, after two years of living on this Earth...yes, two YEARS, my parents were told that the furthest  education level that I would achieve would be a high school diploma. What those people didn't realize is that I had a praying mother and father who invested countless days and nights in my future...plus I had a will they would not let up. In other words...when I found out what doctors and others had said...I made it my business to not only graduate high school, but to also graduate from the University of North Texas with a BS in Political Science and graduating from the University of Phoenix with my MBA...

Point if this blog is not to brag....but to let all of you know that whatever YOU want to do in life...YOU can indeed do it...never let another person decide your future or make the moves in your life that you should be making....the worse thing that another person can do to you is to "box" you in according to your short comings...afterall, I was labeled as "slow" because I wouldn't talk much as a child and at times when I would talk...I'd stutter....Funny thing is, God will take your shortcomings, flip them and use them to propel you to your DESTINY....I'm living proof...

Through the WIRE.....

........3 days in ICU

........A month in the hospital

........A month and a half a home recovering

At some point in life, we all go through some type of storm; it might be medical, it might be school related, or even work related...and a lot of times, family related. Whatever storm you go through, just know it's somebody that has been in your shoes at some point. No, this journey we call life is no easy journey. But it's a journey that we don't have to travel alone. When I woke up in ICU...I knew I had indeed had surgery. The pain was so bad that I couldnt really move...but although I couldn't move, I had a mother who could. When I couldn't speak up, I had a mother who could speak for me. When I was crying night in and night out....I had a mother to wipe my tears. The point of this blog....lend a HELPING hand...instead of looking PAST people, look out for them. Imagine if God looked past us when we NEEDED Him the most...how would you feel? We all have a wire to cross through, a bridge to piece together and a river to swim across...but as you do that, NEVER forget the ones who helped you get to where you are now...afterall, we can't survive in this world alone.

"Love, Peace, and Nappiness" spread it!

Under construction....The Mae Brown Foundation...

Since my first blog post, a few people asked me what the plan was for my foundation and what purpose will it serve. The foundation name will be The Mae Brown Foundation...Mae Brown was not only the sweetest lady on Earth, but also my Godmother who meant more to me than life itself. She was my angel when she was living and she is my guardian angel as I travel through life. Because of everything that she did for me up until her death, I've always felt it was only right to name this kidney foundation after her.

Something that people don't realize is that the number one and two leading causes for kidney failure is high blood pressure and diabetes...which are prevalent in the minority communities due to the way we eat, the stress in our lives, and many other reasons. But if we trade the fatback for baked fish and we cut back on our salt intake, it will make a great difference in our lives. Besides, whats the point in having kids and you aren't around to see them grow?

The Mae Brown Foundation will be a gateway to the kidney community in an effort to help anybody suffering with these types of issues through multiple events such as fundraisers, kidney walks, benefit programs, and the list will expand as time goes on. Right now this foundation is a vision...but a vision that I know is reachable. This foundation will indeed do it's best to support each and every positive cause...afterall at the end of the day, the world is bigger than just me, so I know we all need each other. Unitl next time, hugh somebody, tell your family that you love them.

"Be the change that you desire to see in the world"

The man behind the vision.....

Jonathan Johnson is my name, 26 year old every day type of guy from Dallas, Texas. Loving life and living it to the max. From the day I was born, I had a purpose on my life. Granted, finding your purpose can easily take years, but God showed me my purpose when I was around 20 years old. That purpose was to help as many people as I can through my testimony as well as the testimonies of others....

The testimony you ask...I was diagnosed with kidney failure in 1999 when I was fifteen years old. Which of course changed my outlook on life. I had to grow up sooner than I wanted to, and I also found myself fighting for my life. It was a long road traveled, but with much prayer and support from my family and friends, I was blessed with a transplanted kidney in 2001 at age seventeen. After my surgery, I knew I had to make a difference in not only my community, but the world as well. To date, I've had my kidney for nine years and some months, and this November 21, 2011 will make TEN years.

Because of my journey, I have decided to write my first book about my life before, during, and after my kidney transplant. This book is for the people who have stood in my shoes. For the people who want to tell their story, but can't. This book is for the people who have held me down and supported my dreams as I attempt to bring change into the world. Besides the book, I will be doing blogs such as this one, along with video logs, a website which is coming soon and starting my own kidney foundation...so lend your support and help me change lives.

"What's 4 U is just that...its 4 U...and nobody can take that awat from you when God's hand is in it...but take note, be greatful for what God has given you and the talents He has BLESSED U with...afterall if you don't use your talents, they tend to get taken away..Rome wasn't built in one day, so don't think SUCCESS comes overnite...stay prayerful and keep working...and SEE what happens...#unspeakablejoy"
